Hello to all residents of Westmoreland Square. You may or may not have noticed that there is new infill lighting installed just behind the townhouses at the addresses 6610-6622 Rosecroft Place. This lighting is temporary and will remain in place for a few weeks. The installation is intended to show us what might be installed elsewhere at stair areas & other dark areas of the community. We would like feedback on the installation, either on this website or by email to email@example.com and Cat Follin, cfollin@ sequoiamgmt.com. Please let us know your impression as soon as possible since it will be taken down in early December. Once we hear from the community we will be able to get prices to design this infill lighting and to have it installed. Thanks so much! Gail Pearson

Dear Westmoreland Square Neighbors,
There has been a lot of discussion about the idea of a possible playground in Westmoreland Square. There will be an open Residents’ Forum on Tuesday, November 17, between 8 PM and 10 PM to give all residents the opportunity to share their opinions and ideas. The playground subcommittee and playground design subcommittee would like to share what is currently in the proposal. This session will include details on the proposed design, location, vendor selection, and feedback.
This is not an official Westmoreland Square Homeowners Association Board meeting. No decisions will be taken at this session. The Board has not decided whether to build a playground, or if so, where it would be located. Attached please find a copy of the most recent presentation of the playground idea.
This forum is an opportunity for residents to provide comments before the next Board meeting on December 8. At that meeting, the playground subcommittee will present final recommendations to the Board for consideration. That will also be an opportunity for residents to share further feedback on the proposed playground planning.

At least three residents saw an aggressive raccoon near Midhill and Hopewood on Thursday afternoon. It approached them, and was last seen behind the parking lot opposite Rosecroft. It most likely is rabid. Fairfax County Animal Control was called but could not find the animal. Please do not approach any raccoons or wildlife. If you see this raccoon, or any sick or injured animal, please contact Fairfax County Animal Control at 703-691-2131.
Here are a few last minute reminders:

ProPave could not come on Friday but plans to finish patch work on Monday instead.
Pro Pave will be repairing asphalt on Hopewood Drive Oct 23 (Friday) on the edge of Jessie’s Park, with three small patches. Also the bottom of Hopewood Drive near the Kirby side will be patched. There should be little or no disruption to traffic or parking.
A Jeep car key was found on Highboro on Monday afternoon. Please contact Richard Shumann if you are missing this key.
