Do not put glass in curbside recycling

Fairfax County does not collect glass in our home recycling bins. Please take glass for recycling to the Dolley Madison Library at 1244 Oak Ridge Ave, McLean, VA 22101, or Falls Church City Recycling at 217 Gordon Rd, Falls Church, VA 22046.

If you put glass in trash, please make sure it is well packed so it will not spill on our sidewalks.

More information on what you can and can not recycle is at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/publicworks/recycling-trash/residential-materials or in the flyer below.

Snow coming Friday 19th – cars and sidewalks

Please move cars out of snowplow lanes this evening before the snow starts.

Heritage will pre-treat our streets on Thursday evening to help limit accumulation.

Also please shovel your front walks. If you are feeling kind, please clear sidewalks for residents who would appreciate the help.

Snow — move cars & be kind

Please move cars from the snow lane along Hopewood Drive so the plows can clear our streets Tuesday morning. The following cars, all with Virginia plates, were parked in snow lanes as of 8 PM Monday:
WM 5460
UGS 1954
VHY 6802
UCB 3071
TLU 2116

Residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from their front sidewalks within 12 hours of the end of a snowstorm. Clearing snow makes it easier for all of us, and the mail carrier, to get around. If one of your neighbors is away, or may have trouble shoveling their walks, please be kind and shovel their walk for them.
